Recently I graduated from UC Santa Barbara Geography, specializing in applying computer vision and deep learning to tricky problems in land cover mapping with satellite imagery. Sometimes I contribute to open source python software and data science curriculum; in the past I’ve worked on solaris and as I get the time, this Carpentries lesson. Things will be a bit quiet here as I start a new job with UCSB’s Earth Research Institute as a reseach software engineer and get settled in Berkeley, CA. I’m enjoying connecting with friends old and new, working on my bouldering skills, and exploring new hobbies: electronic music, cooking, and craigslisting.
